Motor Vehicle Accident Assessment

Ongeval

Motor vehicle assessors are legally obliged to report vehicles that have been involved in a serious accident to Car-Pass. This notification is made via INFORMEX. You will no longer be able to drive the vehicle until it has passed a specific Motor Vehicle Accident Assessment. So if you buy a car that still needs to undergo a Motor Vehicle Accident Assessment, you will not be able to register the vehicle until the car has been professionally repaired and thoroughly assessed.

This specific assessment is mandatory for damage to all components considered of high importance to the safety of the occupants and other road users. This concerns in particular: the chassis, steering, suspension and braking system. This will appear on the Car-Pass until this assessment has been completed.

Please note that this obligation applies from 1 March 2019. As a result, there will be no mention on the Car-Pass of vehicles that were signed by the experts before that date.
