The information stored in the central Car-Pass database may only be used to issue the Car-Pass when an odometer history is requested. This is also why every Car-Pass must be requested individually, and why the Vehicle Identification number (VIN) of the vehicle and the odometer reading at that moment must also be provided.
The change in law makes it possible for Car-Pass to make the data it receives in the context of its legal mission available for use in scientific, historical or statistical studies and surveys; under strict terms and conditions of course. Data use for commercial purposes is clearly excluded.
