The Royal Decree of 5 April 2019 states the additional information that must be included in the sales contract.

The seller is responsible for drawing up this document unless it concerns the sale of a used vehicle by a private individual to a professional trader (for example when purchasing a new vehicle). In the latter case, the professional must draw up the document.

The document must be prepared in duplicate and each party must receive a signed copy. For the sale of a used vehicle between private individuals, there is no legal obligation to draw up such a document. However, it is highly advisable to do so in order to prevent possible disputes in the future.
