In implementation of the legislation, Car-Pass non-profit manages a database containing certain data of cars and light vans. Car-Pass non-profit receives the data from third parties who are legally obliged to provide the data to Car-Pass non-profit. Car-Pass non-profit only uses this data for the purposes provided by the legislator.
Car-Pass non-profit is not responsible for the operation of the IT infrastructure of the various third parties and the link to its database. Car-Pass non-profit is not charged by law with checking the accuracy and/or completeness of the data received and is therefore not liable for this. It does not certify the odometer readings. For imported used vehicles, odometer readings dating from the period when the vehicle was not registered in Belgium may not be available.
You can contact Car-Pass if you believe there are incorrect data on your Car-Pass document.
Car-Pass non-profit takes all reasonable measures to secure the Car-Pass against counterfeiting. You can check the authenticity of the document on the website (www.car-pass.be) or via the QR code on the front.
The Car-Pass does not provide any guarantee about the technical condition or the absence of possible defects of the vehicle for which a Car-Pass is issued. Car-Pass non-profit does not accept any liability in this respect.
All disputes related to or arising from the Car-Pass are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute falls within the exclusive jurisdiction of the Brussels courts, without prejudice to the right of consumers to invoke provisions of Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012.
